A Mermaid's Love is Forever

Friday, October 17, 2008

Once upon a time, an amnesiac woman gave birth to a mermaid—an event that people took as an omen of bad luck. Forced to give up her daughter, Lucia thought the mysterious Banak could do more to give her daughter a peaceful life. But how can Dyesebel ever live a quiet life with her insatiable curiosity?

Raised as an ordinary mermaid, Dyesebel was chosen to become a mermaid-in-waiting for Princess Berbola, the spoiled daughter of the underwater kingdom’s queen. And when she learned from the princess that there was more to the world than the confines of their kingdom, Dyesebel yearned to roam free.

She then discovered what her own mother had discovered before: that love does has no boundaries.

As she tried to explore the world above the surface of the water, Dyesebel got caught in a fishnet. She was saved by a young boy she only knew as Fredo; it was the name that the boy answered to. And though the boy had cut the net to free Dyesebel, a different kind of net had enveloped Dyesebel’s heart. It was the kind that would forever keep Fredo in the young mermaid’s heart and mind. And after more than a decade, a grown Dyesebel continued to return above water for another glimpse of the boy who stole her heart.

But Berbola started to become curious of where Dyesebel had been going; it seemed that she, too, had discovered Fredo—the now-grown boy who made Dyesebel break the rules.
