The Mermaid's Secret

Friday, October 17, 2008

Mermaids had always been forbidden to love mortals, not just because both belong to different species, but also because mortal men could never love a mermaid truly. But one mermaid had already proven it wrong when she wed and gave a mortal man a daughter. And one mermaid hoped to repeat history, when the man she loved, the man she hid her real form from, was forced to discover who she really was.

Isabel’s secret had been revealed to Betty, and now the vindictive socialite wouldn’t stop until Fredo sees Isabel for the freak that she is. But what Betty didn’t know was that things would change once Isabel’s secret was revealed, because Ava would feel kinship with Dyesebel—her real daughter.

Fredo became more and more concerned for his well-being. Formerly self-assured and goal-oriented, he was becoming more sentimental and emotional. He thinks he's in love. But is he really in love with Isabel, or was his friend correct in saying that he was just feeling pity for the poor girl?

Meanwhile, Paulo was abducted and beat up because of Sheila Mae. Don Juan ordered his men to rough up the fish vendor to make him stay away from his daughter. And what better way to make sure the young man stays away than by telling him that it was Sheila Mae herself who wanted him beat up? But the concerned teenage girl was clueless that the man she loved was being fed lies about her.

And in Serenea, Berbola discovered that Erebus was hiding Amafura. But instead of telling on them, Berbola decided to get Amafura to help her in exchange for keeping her silence. She wanted legs, and she would follow Dyesebel to the mortal world—and they would compete for Fredo’s affections.
