When a Mermaid Loves

Friday, October 17, 2008

Dyesebel had her heart broken, and Berbola made sure that the erstwhile mermaid be returned to her proper position: tending to her every need.

Legend said that when a mermaid falls in love with a person, she will love him forever; and if he had set his eyes upon her, that first mermaid he sees, he will never forget her. And that was the case with Fredo and Dyesebel.

After their day out with the eccentric Doña Guada, ‘Isabel’ had thought that Fredo was her Prince Charming. And the following night, when a drunken Fredo kissed her and called her Dyesebel, Isabel thought her dreams had finally come true. And then came the morning after.

Fredo had an ongoing competition with the vice president of his company, Gildo. He refused to allow the conniving newcomer to worm his way into the company and win everyone over. But Gildo had an unknowing ally: a very jealous Betty who would do anything to shame Fredo after he backed out of their wedding.

And during the presentation where Fredo and Gildo went head to head against each other, the former got a surprise of his life when a video footage of his kiss with ‘Isabel’ aired for his clients to see, pushing him to push ‘Isabel’ away and into the hands of the vindictive Betty; pushing ‘Isabel’ to reconsider her place in the mortal world.

Meanwhile in Serenea, the princess Berbola was betrothed to be married to Erebus. But the princess did not love the most loyal of the royal guards. Berbola loved Fredo, the human who captured Dyesebel’s heart. And she will do anything to get him away from her toughest rival—like strike a deal with her mother, Dyangga, to get Dyesebel back under the sea.

Back in the mortal world, Paolo and Sheila Mae began their unlikely friendship. After Paolo revealed to Sheila Mae the truth about her boyfriend and her best friend, the girl had no one else to turn to except him.
