The Mermaid and the Pearls

Friday, October 17, 2008

The subversive war between Isabel and Cassandra has begun; but the two women aren’t all the different from each other: they’re both in love with Fredo, they’re both pretending to be someone they’re not, and they both came from the sea as mermaids.

Panic began its reign on Serenea. With Berbola’s disappearance, Dyangga was all the more suspicious of her minions and those she rule. If her own daughter could find the elusive Amafura, why hadn’t her soldiers have done it too? Thus she now suspected that someone from within the castle was helping the sea witch to hide.

Amafura herself was in a panicked mood. When they learned that Usaro had confiscated Erebus’s only means to communicate with Dyesebel, Amafura revealed to Bukanding that they only had one chance left to warn Dyesebel of Berbola’s plots: and that was to retrieve the powers of the magic pearl, by finding it’s black counterpart.

Above ground, Isabel had found out that Cassandra and Berbola are one and the same. But not believing her own eyes, Isabel decided that she need to find out if Berbola was no longer in Serenea herself—an act that could and would doom her.
